Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop 2026 technology roadmaps and implementation strategies
- Establish partnerships with academic institutions and R&D labs for emerging tech validation
- Quantify market readiness and ROI for breakthrough technologies including quantum AI and neural interfaces
- Present strategic briefings to C-suite and board members on paradigm-shifting innovations
- Author whitepapers and thought leadership on societal impacts of 2026 technological shifts
- Manage $10M+ innovation portfolio with quarterly pivot assessments
- Mentor junior futurists and build next-generation talent pipeline
Qualifications
- 10+ years in technology strategy, R&D leadership, or futurist consulting
- Published research in Nature/Science or equivalent peer-reviewed journals
- Deep expertise in at least two of: quantum computing, synthetic biology, climate tech, or neuro interfaces
- Proven track record of scaling innovations from lab to market ($100M+ impact)
- PhD in relevant field or equivalent demonstrable expertise
- Experience with scenario planning and horizon scanning methodologies
- Strong network within DARPA, NSF, or equivalent innovation ecosystems
- Exceptional communication skills for translating complex concepts to stakeholders
