Responsibilities
- Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, setting up scaffolding, and securing materials
- Operate hand/power tools (jackhammers, saws, drills) and heavy equipment (excavators, forklifts)
- Read blueprints and follow supervisor instructions for accurate task execution
- Assist skilled trades (carpenters, electricians) with material handling and support tasks
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety protocols and maintain organized workspaces
- Load/unload materials safely using proper lifting techniques and equipment
- Complete daily equipment maintenance checks and report malfunctions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational training preferred
- 1+ years construction experience or equivalent military/civilian training
- OSHA 10-hour certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Basic blueprint reading and measurement skills
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
