Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradesmen in daily construction tasks including material handling, site preparation, and cleanup
- Operate hand tools (hammers, saws, drills) and light equipment (scaffold setup, power washers)
- Follow strict safety protocols and maintain organized job sites
- Read blueprints and instructions to execute tasks accurately
- Load/unload materials and transport equipment as needed
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines
- Report maintenance issues with tools or equipment to supervisors
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor for extended periods
- Valid driver's license preferred but not required
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Basic math skills for material measurements
- No prior construction experience necessary – training provided
- Reliable transportation to job sites across NYC boroughs
