Responsibilities
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Site Preparation: Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, digging trenches, and leveling the ground as directed by supervisors.
- Equipment Support: Operate basic construction machinery and power tools (drills, saws) under supervision to assist skilled tradespeople.
- Assembly: Assemble and disassemble temporary structures, scaffolding, and barricades to ensure site safety.
- Cleanup: Maintain a clean and organized job site, removing waste and debris regularly to adhere to safety regulations.
- Assistance: Perform general labor tasks such as mixing concrete, carrying lumber, and assisting carpenters or masons.
- Reporting: Report any unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions immediately to the Site Safety Officer.
Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform heavy physical labor for extended periods, including lifting heavy objects (50+ lbs) and standing, walking, and bending frequently.
- Valid Driver's License: A current, valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
- Basic Math Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic and understand measurements and blueprints (preferred but not required).
- Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and willing to work a full-time schedule, including weekends or overtime as needed.
- Communication: Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors.
- Work Ethic: A strong desire to learn and grow within the construction industry.
