Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Assist in site preparation, including excavation, grading, and leveling areas for foundations.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from the job site efficiently.
- Machinery Support: Operate basic construction equipment and power tools under the supervision of a foreman.
- Cleaning & Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work environment by removing debris, covering holes, and adhering to all OSHA safety protocols.
- Assisting Trades: Support skilled tradespeople, such as electricians and carpenters, by preparing materials and assisting with installations.
- Measurements: Assist in measuring and marking areas for cutting and assembly according to blueprints.
- Site Maintenance: Ensure tools and equipment are stored properly and maintained in good working order.
Qualifications
- Experience: Prior experience in construction labor or general labor is a strong plus.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical labor for long hours, including lifting heavy objects (50+ lbs) and standing for extended periods.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- Communication: Good verbal communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Safety Conscious: Familiarity with safety gear (hard hat, boots, vests) and general construction safety standards.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
