Responsibilities
- Prepare construction sites through excavation, grading, and material staging
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, forklifts, and concrete saws
- Assist skilled tradespeople with carpentry, masonry, and plumbing tasks
- Implement OSHA safety protocols and maintain job site cleanliness
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical schematics
- Load/unhaul construction materials and equipment
- Complete daily progress reports and quality inspections
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years commercial construction experience
- OSHA 30-hour certification or willingness to obtain
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Proficiency with hand/power tools and measurement equipment
- Basic blueprint reading and math skills
- Pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Welding or scaffolding certification preferred
