Responsibilities
- Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, setting up equipment, and establishing safety barriers
- Assist skilled tradespeople with tasks including digging trenches, mixing concrete, and operating hand/power tools
- Load/unload construction materials and equipment using proper lifting techniques and machinery
- Follow OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean, organized work areas
- Read blueprints and instructions to complete assigned tasks accurately
- Perform general cleanup and site restoration upon project completion
Qualifications
- No prior experience required - comprehensive training provided
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic English communication skills for safety instructions and teamwork
- Valid driver's license preferred (not mandatory)
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Reliable transportation to job sites within the Chicago area
- Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
