Responsibilities
- Execute site preparation, excavation, and material handling tasks per project blueprints
- Operate hand/power tools and light machinery safely and efficiently
- Maintain clean, organized job sites and adhere to OSHA safety protocols
- Assist skilled trades (carpenters, masons, electricians) with material preparation
- Perform basic concrete work, framing support, and demolition duties
- Complete daily equipment checks and basic maintenance tasks
- Document work progress and report site issues to supervisors
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months construction/labor experience or equivalent training
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic math skills for measurements and material calculations
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Flexible schedule availability (Saturdays/Sundays, 6AM-6PM)
- Reliable transportation to job sites across Orleans Parish
