Responsibilities
- Assist carpenters, masons, and other tradespeople with material handling, site preparation, and cleanup
- Operate hand/power tools safely (saws, drills, jackhammers) under direct supervision
- Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting (50+ lbs), digging, and debris removal
- Maintain strict OSHA compliance and report safety hazards immediately
- Read and interpret basic blueprints and project specifications
- Support concrete pouring, framing, and finishing operations
- Adhere to strict project timelines and quality standards
Qualifications
- Valid OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Reliable transportation to job sites across NYC boroughs
- Weekend availability (Saturday/Sunday, 6AM-4PM)
- Basic math skills for material measurement and inventory
- Experience with power tools and construction equipment preferred
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)
