Responsibilities
- Assist carpenters, masons, and equipment operators on active construction sites
- Safely load/unload materials and operate hand/power tools (hammers, saws, drills)
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and adhere to OSHA safety standards
- Prepare sites by digging trenches, erecting scaffolding, and setting up temporary structures
- Read blueprints and follow verbal instructions from site supervisors
- Perform physical tasks including lifting (up to 50 lbs), carrying, and operating machinery
- Participate in daily safety briefings and incident reporting protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical examination
- Valid driver's license with clean record (required for equipment operation)
- Basic math skills for material measurements and inventory
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Reliable transportation to job sites within NYC metro area
- Ability to stand/walk 8+ hours daily with scheduled breaks
- Must pass mandatory background check and drug screening
