Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Assist in preparing construction sites by clearing debris, digging trenches, and setting up temporary structures.
- Material Handling: Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Tool Operation: Operate basic construction tools and machinery under supervision, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and power drills.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and site-specific safety protocols at all times.
- Assisting Trades: Support carpenters, electricians, and plumbers with various manual tasks as required.
- Site Cleanup: Maintain a clean and organized job site to ensure a safe working environment.
- Documentation: Complete daily logs and report any safety hazards or equipment issues to the site supervisor.
Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry heavy objects (up to 50+ lbs) for extended periods.
- Valid Driver's License: A current driver's license is required for site access and transportation.
- Reliability: Must be punctual, dependable, and willing to work in various weather conditions.
- Basic Math Skills: Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic measurements.
- Communication: Good verbal communication skills to understand and follow instructions from supervisors.
- Teamwork: Willingness to collaborate effectively with a diverse crew of construction professionals.
- Experience: Previous construction labor experience is a plus but not mandatory for the right attitude.
