Responsibilities
- Assist Journeyman Electricians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential and commercial settings.
- Perform basic electrical tasks such as stripping wire, mounting outlets, installing lighting fixtures, and running conduit under direct supervision.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local and national electrical codes (NEC) and safety regulations.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe; properly store tools and materials after use.
- Read and interpret basic blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to understand project requirements.
- Utilize electrical testing equipment (multimeters, voltage testers) to verify circuits are functioning correctly.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding project progress and potential issues.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Valid Driverβs License and a clean driving record are mandatory.
- Physical stamina to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various positions (standing, kneeling, bending) for extended periods.
- Basic math skills for calculating measurements, wire lengths, and material quantities.
- A strong willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug screen.
- Previous trade school coursework is a plus but not required.
