Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespeople with site preparation, material handling, and cleanup
- Operate basic hand tools (hammers, shovels, levels) and power equipment under supervision
- Follow strict safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Read and interpret simple blueprints and instructions from supervisors
- Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, carrying, and digging
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards
- Report equipment issues and safety hazards immediately
Qualifications
- No prior construction experience required - we train everyone!
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for extended periods
- Valid driver's license preferred but not mandatory
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Reliable transportation to job sites within Chicago area
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Basic math skills for measurements and material counts
