Responsibilities
- Assist Senior Electricians: Shadow and support journeyman electricians on residential and commercial job sites.
- Install and Repair: Perform basic electrical installations, including wiring outlets, switches, and lighting fixtures under supervision.
- Blueprint Reading: Learn to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to OSHA safety regulations and company protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
- Tools and Materials: Assist in the organization, inventory, and preparation of tools and materials for daily tasks.
- Site Maintenance: Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards after completing tasks.
- Travel: Travel to various job sites throughout the New York area as required.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- License: Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently. Must be comfortable working in various weather conditions.
- Skills: Basic math skills and the ability to use a tape measure accurately.
- Attitude: A strong desire to learn the trade and a willingness to get hands-on dirty.
- Availability: Must be available for full-time hours, including some weekends or overtime as needed.
