Responsibilities
- Assist journeyman electricians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, wiring, and fixtures.
- Prepare job sites by digging trenches, pulling wire, and mounting electrical boxes and panels.
- Learn to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics.
- Install and maintain lighting fixtures, switches, outlets, and circuit breakers.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local and national electrical codes (NEC).
- Perform routine cleaning and organization of tools and work areas.
- Support the team in troubleshooting electrical issues under supervision.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (Trade school certification is a plus, but not mandatory).
- Basic understanding of math is preferred for measurements and calculations.
- Must be physically able to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Strong desire to learn the electrical trade and a commitment to safety.
- Must be available for full-time work, including weekends and overtime as needed.
