Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, and fixtures according to blueprints and safety codes
- Conduct routine inspections to identify electrical hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA/NYC regulations
- Operate hand tools and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot circuits and malfunctions
- Collaborate with senior electricians on commercial/residential projects and service calls
- Document work progress, material usage, and safety compliance reports
- Participate in safety training sessions and maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Assist in emergency electrical repairs during off-hours (rotational on-call duty)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- No prior experience required – we train motivated beginners!
- Basic math skills for load calculations and material estimation
- Ability to read technical diagrams and follow detailed instructions
- Physical stamina for climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Valid driver’s license (for tool transport between job sites)
- Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Willingness to obtain NYC Electrical Trainee License within 6 months
