Responsibilities
- Execute physically demanding tasks including excavation, material handling, and site preparation
- Operate heavy machinery (e.g., jackhammers, forklifts, power tools) with proper certification
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean, organized work areas
- Collaborate with tradespeople to support carpenters, masons, and electricians
- Read blueprints and technical documents to ensure accurate project execution
- Perform daily equipment maintenance checks and report defects
- Assist in concrete pouring, framing, and finishing operations
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of commercial/residential construction experience
- Valid OSHA 10-hour certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic math skills for material estimation and measurement
- Reliable transportation to job sites across Virginia Beach
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Strong teamwork ethic and ability to follow instructions precisely
