Job Summary
As an Electrician at Virginia Coast Electric, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems. You will work in various environments, ensuring all work is performed in compliance with local and national electrical codes.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Read blueprints and technical diagrams to determine layout of electrical systems.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Test electrical systems and continuity to ensure they comply with safety codes.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and ensure all equipment is in good working order.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician license in the state of Virginia.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial and residential electrical work.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and national and local electrical codes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, and lift heavy materials for extended periods.
