Responsibilities
- Assist carpenters, masons, and other trades with material handling and site preparation
- Operate hand/power tools safely and efficiently (saws, drills, jackhammers)
- Load/unload construction materials and maintain organized job sites
- Follow OSHA safety protocols and wear required PPE
- Perform cleanup and debris removal throughout project phases
- Read basic blueprints and communicate project needs to supervisors
Qualifications
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Valid driver's license with clean record (for equipment operation)
- Reliable transportation to job sites across Chicago suburbs
- Basic math skills for material measurement and inventory
- Strong work ethic and punctuality with flexible availability
- Willingness to work in outdoor conditions (heat, cold, rain)
- Construction certification preferred but not required
