You'll lead a team of 12 quantum physicists and software engineers, publishing groundbreaking research and translating theoretical models into practical applications.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for machine learning optimization
- Lead cross-functional teams developing quantum-resistant cybersecurity protocols
- Publish 3+ peer-reviewed papers in top-tier journals annually
- Manage $2M+ research budget for quantum hardware acquisition
- Collaborate with NASA and MIT on quantum simulation for space exploration
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science
- Develop patent-pending quantum error correction methodologies
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or related field
- 5+ years experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit)
- Published research in Nature/Science journals on quantum algorithms
- Expertise in quantum error correction and decoherence mitigation
- Proven track record of securing government/industry research grants
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum mechanics
- Experience leading teams of 10+ researchers
- Security clearance preferred for DOE collaboration projects
