Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead cross-functional teams to prototype quantum applications in finance and healthcare
- Develop error-correction techniques to advance quantum coherence beyond 1000-qubit systems
- Publish research in top-tier journals and present at international quantum computing conferences
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum circuit compilation for next-generation processors
- Secure $5M+ in research grants from NSF and DARPA for 2026 quantum initiatives
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory and computational complexity
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 5+ years research experience
- Published author in Nature/Science or equivalent quantum computing journals
- Expertise in quantum algorithm design (Shor's, Grover's, VQE) and error correction codes
- Proficiency in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Track record of securing federal research grants
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum systems
- Strong background in high-performance computing and parallel architectures
- US citizenship required for government project collaboration
