Responsibilities
- Perform site preparation including excavation, grading, and material handling
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, bulldozers) with proper certification
- Construct and erect scaffolding, temporary structures, and safety barriers
- Assist skilled tradesmen with carpentry, masonry, and concrete work
- Enforce OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean job sites
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications
- Complete daily equipment maintenance and safety checks
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years commercial construction experience
- Valid OSHA 30-hour certification or willingness to obtain
- Class B CDL license with air brake endorsement
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather
- Basic math skills for material calculations
- Reliable transportation to job sites across Chicago
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends
