Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic innovation roadmaps targeting 2026-2030 technological inflection points
- Lead cross-disciplinary R&D initiatives in quantum computing, synthetic biology, and climate tech
- Forge strategic partnerships with academic institutions and Fortune 500 innovation labs
- Secure $10M+ annual R&D budget through compelling stakeholder presentations
- Mentor a team of 12+ futurists and technical specialists
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify emerging technologies with exponential potential
- Translate complex scientific concepts into actionable business opportunities
Qualifications
- PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Biotechnology, or Physics with 8+ years industry experience
- Proven track record of scaling innovation from concept to commercialization
- Deep expertise in at least two of: quantum algorithms, synthetic biology, or carbon capture
- Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to C-suite executives
- Published research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Experience managing multi-million dollar R&D budgets and teams
- Portfolio of 3+ patents or commercialized technologies
- Fluency in strategic foresight methodologies (e.g., Delphi, Horizon Scanning)
