Responsibilities
- Lead System Integration: Oversee the architectural design and integration of complex subsystems for the 2026 Lunar Gateway mission, ensuring interoperability and safety compliance.
- Trajectory & Propulsion: Develop advanced modeling and simulation tools to optimize orbital maneuvers and propulsion efficiency leading up to the 2026 launch date.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with software engineers, avionics specialists, and mission planners to translate technical requirements into actionable development roadmaps.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all system designs adhere to stringent NASA and FAA safety standards and international space treaties.
- Risk Management: Identify potential technical bottlenecks and engineering risks in the 2026 timeline, implementing mitigation strategies early in the development cycle.
- Prototype Validation: Validate architectural concepts through rigorous testing protocols, including vibration, thermal, and vacuum chamber simulations.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field; PhD preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems architecture, with at least 3 years in spaceflight or defense contracting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in systems engineering tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, DOORS) and experience with orbital mechanics software.
- Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale engineering projects with tight deadlines, specifically aligned with fiscal years 2024-2026.
