Responsibilities
- Strategize and execute R&D initiatives for 2026-ready tech solutions (quantum computing, AI ethics, neural interfaces)
- Lead agile development of prototype systems with 18-24 month deployment horizons
- Collaborate with VPs of Engineering and Product to align innovation with business objectives
- Manage $2M+ annual innovation budget with ROI-focused resource allocation
- Publish thought leadership in peer-reviewed journals and industry forums
- Mentor 8+ engineers and researchers in emerging technology adoption
Qualifications
- 10+ years in tech R&D with 5+ years in leadership roles
- Proven track record shipping at least two breakthrough tech products
- PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, AI, or Biotechnology
- Expertise in at least two emerging tech domains (quantum, neurotech, synthetic biology)
- Strong background in ethical tech frameworks and regulatory compliance
- Published research in top-tier conferences (NeurIPS, Nature, etc.)
- Experience scaling teams from prototype to enterprise deployment
