Responsibilities
- Architect 2026+ technology roadmaps for AI autonomy, quantum computing applications, and synthetic biology
- Lead horizon-scanning initiatives to identify disruptive technologies with 3-5 year market impact
- Collaborate with R&D teams to prototype next-gen systems in our Austin Innovation Lab
- Present strategic briefings to C-suite executives and board members on emerging tech risks/opportunities
- Manage partnerships with academic institutions and tech incubators for early-stage innovation
- Develop patent strategies for breakthrough technologies in quantum-resistant encryption and neuromorphic computing
- Coordinate cross-functional sprints to validate future-use-case hypotheses
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Quantum Physics, or Biotechnology with 8+ years industry experience
- Proven track record of launching tech products with 2025+ market vision (quantum/AI/bio preferred)
- Deep expertise in at least two emerging tech domains: quantum algorithms, neuromorphic chips, or CRISPR applications
- Experience building technology roadmaps for Fortune 500 companies
- Publish record in IEEE Nature or equivalent tier publications
- Exceptional strategic communication skills translating complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Active contributor to IEEE Future Tech or ACM SIG committees
