Responsibilities
- Prepare construction sites by clearing debris and setting up safety barriers
- Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, masons) with material handling
- Operate basic equipment (jackhammers, saws, drills) under supervision
- Maintain clean and organized workspaces to meet OSHA standards
- Read blueprints and follow verbal instructions from site supervisors
- Load/unload materials and transport tools to designated areas
- Report safety hazards or equipment malfunctions immediately
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for extended periods
- Valid driver's license (Class D) preferred
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions
- Basic math skills for measuring and material counting
- Reliable transportation to job sites across NYC boroughs
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
