Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespeople with material handling, equipment operation, and site preparation
- Maintain clean and organized work areas following OSHA safety standards
- Operate hand/power tools (saws, drills, jackhammers) safely and efficiently
- Read blueprints and follow verbal instructions from site supervisors
- Perform heavy lifting, digging, and demolition tasks as project requirements dictate
- Participate in weatherproofing, scaffolding setup, and site security protocols
- Complete daily equipment maintenance and safety inspections
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year construction/labor experience preferred
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic math skills for material measurements and calculations
- Strong work ethic and punctuality with zero-tolerance policy for substance use
- Reliable transportation to job sites across Orleans Parish
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
