Responsibilities
- Prepare construction sites by clearing debris and setting up safety barriers
- Assist carpenters and masons with material handling and tool operation
- Operate power tools (saws, drills, jackhammers) and heavy equipment (excavators, forklifts)
- Read blueprints and follow project specifications accurately
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean work areas
- Perform concrete work including pouring, finishing, and demolition
- Assist in site layout and measurement tasks
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years construction experience or trade school certification
- Valid OSHA 10-hour construction certification
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic math skills for measurement calculations
- Reliable transportation to job sites across Chicagoland
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
- Must possess own basic hand tools (tape measure, level, hammer)
- Experience with concrete work or scaffolding preferred
