Responsibilities
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to designated work areas.
- Site Assistance: Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, etc.) with various tasks, including measuring, cutting, and holding materials.
- Site Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site by removing debris, sweeping floors, and organizing tools.
- Preparation: Prepare surfaces for painting, flooring, or other finishes by sanding, patching, or priming.
- Tool Operation: Operate basic power tools and hand tools under the direct supervision of a foreman or lead.
- Site Cleanup: Ensure compliance with all OSHA safety regulations and local building codes during daily operations.
Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working in various weather conditions.
- Schedule Flexibility: Must be available to work early mornings, weekends, and overtime as project demands require.
- Willingness to Learn: A positive attitude and eagerness to learn new skills and follow safety instructions strictly.
- Communication: Basic ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Transportation: Reliable transportation to job sites in New York City and surrounding regions.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license preferred.
