Responsibilities
- Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, setting up scaffolding, and directing traffic
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, forklifts, and jackhammers with proper safety protocols
- Assist carpenters and masons with material handling and basic construction tasks
- Read blueprints and technical drawings to execute project specifications accurately
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite while adhering to OSHA safety standards
- Complete daily timecards and progress reports for project supervisors
- Participate in emergency response drills and safety training sessions
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of construction or labor experience preferred
- Valid OSHA 10-hour certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment operation knowledge
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to follow verbal/written instructions
- Reliable transportation and flexible availability for overtime/weekend work
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
