Job Summary:
As a Construction Laborer, you will play a crucial role in various phases of construction projects. You will work under the guidance of experienced foremen and skilled tradespeople to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to the highest safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from job sites using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Site Preparation: Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, digging trenches, and setting forms for concrete work.
- Equipment Support: Operate basic construction equipment and tools, such as saws, levels, and generators, ensuring they are maintained properly.
- Assistance: Assist skilled tradespeople (electricians, plumbers, carpenters) with various tasks to support the overall workflow.
- Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with OSHA safety regulations.
- Documentation: Perform daily inspections and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions immediately.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in construction or general labor is a plus but not strictly required; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods. Physical stamina is essential for this role.
- License: Valid Driverβs License and clean driving record.
- Safety Awareness: Familiarity with basic safety protocols and the willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Communication: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
