Responsibilities
- Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, setting up barricades, and marking hazards
- Operate power tools (saws, drills, jackhammers) and heavy machinery (excavators, forklifts) with proper training
- Assist carpenters, masons, and welders with material handling and task execution
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean, organized workspaces
- Read blueprints and follow project specifications to ensure precision
- Perform manual labor including lifting, digging, and carrying materials (up to 50 lbs)
- Report equipment malfunctions and safety concerns to supervisors immediately
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Valid California driver's license with clean record
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Physical stamina to work 8-10 hour shifts in all weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Basic math skills for measurements and material calculations
- Reliable transportation to job sites across the Bay Area
- Team player with strong communication skills
