Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Assist in preparing construction sites by clearing debris, digging trenches, and setting up scaffolding.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment using forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual labor.
- Machinery Operation: Operate power tools, compressors, and light machinery under supervision to facilitate construction tasks.
- General Labor: Perform general cleaning and maintenance of the job site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and OSHA standards.
- Assistance: Support skilled tradespeople, such as electricians and carpenters, with specific duties as assigned.
- Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret basic blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements.
- Quality Control: Ensure all work performed meets the project specifications and quality control guidelines.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in construction labor, general labor, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- Tools: Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety gear is a plus.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with foremen and team members.
- Attendance: Strong work history with a focus on reliability and punctuality.
