Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespeople with material handling, site preparation, and cleanup duties
- Operate basic hand tools and equipment under supervision (e.g., shovels, wheelbarrows, saws)
- Follow safety protocols and maintain organized work areas
- Read and interpret simple construction plans and instructions
- Support concrete, framing, demolition, and finishing tasks as assigned
- Transport materials to designated work zones using appropriate methods
- Participate in daily team briefings and progress meetings
Qualifications
- No prior construction experience required – we train on the job!
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Valid driver's license preferred (some roles require equipment operation)
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
- Reliable transportation to job sites across Chicago
