Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, etc.) with various construction tasks and general site preparation.
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment safely to and from the job site.
- Operate heavy machinery and power tools under direct supervision when certified.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area by removing debris and waste regularly.
- Follow all OSHA safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform basic measurements, cutting, and fitting of materials such as wood, metal, or concrete.
- Assist in demolition tasks and prepare surfaces for finishing.
Qualifications
- Willingness to learn: A positive attitude and eagerness to work are more important than prior experience.
- Physical stamina: Ability to perform physical labor for long periods, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and standing, kneeling, and bending.
- Basic math skills: Comfortable reading a tape measure and performing simple calculations.
- Communication: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors.
- Reliability: Must be punctual and dependable with a strong work ethic.
- License: Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred (not always required).
