Responsibilities
- Excavate, prepare, and maintain construction sites according to blueprints and safety protocols
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, forklifts, and power tools with precision
- Load/unload construction materials and ensure proper storage at job sites
- Assist carpenters, masons, and other trades with material handling and setup
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and maintain clean, organized work environments
- Inspect and maintain equipment to prevent downtime and ensure operational efficiency
- Participate in daily team briefings and progress reporting sessions
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of verified construction labor experience in commercial/residential projects
- OSHA 10-hour certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic math skills for material measurement and inventory tracking
- Flexibility to work weekends and overtime during project peak periods
- Pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Strong communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish a plus)
