Responsibilities
- Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, setting up safety barriers, and organizing materials
- Assist skilled trades with material handling, equipment operation, and basic installations
- Perform heavy lifting, digging, trenching, and site preparation tasks
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean work areas
- Operate hand/power tools safely and efficiently under supervision
- Assist in concrete pouring, framing support, and finishing tasks
- Complete daily equipment maintenance checks and report malfunctions
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months construction or labor experience preferred
- Valid OSHA 10-hour certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and work in outdoor conditions
- Strong mechanical aptitude with basic tool operation knowledge
- Reliable transportation to job sites across Virginia Beach
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Ability to work weekends (Sat/Sun) with occasional overtime
- Basic math skills for material measurements and inventory
