Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Prepare construction sites by clearing and preparing areas for new structures, ensuring the site is clean, safe, and organized.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and distribute construction materials, tools, and equipment using hand trucks, forklifts, or other machinery.
- Assistance: Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, plumbers) with various tasks including measuring, cutting, and assembling materials.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including sweeping, shoveling, and removing debris.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all OSHA safety regulations and company policies to ensure a hazard-free work environment.
- Utility Support: Assist in setting up temporary utilities, scaffolding, and barricades as required by the project.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience as a construction laborer or general laborer is preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects (50+ lbs) for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Tools: Familiarity with basic construction tools (hammers, saws, levels) is a plus.
- License: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Reliability: Strong work ethic and punctuality are essential.
