Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Assist in the preparation of construction sites by clearing debris, digging trenches, and leveling ground as directed.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment to and from the job site safely and efficiently.
- Support Trades: Provide general support to carpenters, electricians, and other skilled laborers by fetching tools, holding materials, and performing basic tasks.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all OSHA safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and your team.
- Equipment Operation: Operate basic construction equipment and power tools (drills, saws, etc.) under the supervision of a supervisor.
- Cleanup: Maintain a clean and organized work area at the end of each shift.
Qualifications
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) on a regular basis.
- Experience: Prior experience in construction labor or general labor is preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (50+ lbs) repeatedly, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Transportation: Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation to commute to the Oakland location.
- Communication: Good verbal communication skills and the ability to follow instructions clearly.
- Work Ethic: A strong desire to learn, a positive attitude, and a commitment to working well within a team.
