Responsibilities
- Execute precise construction tasks including site preparation, material handling, and structural assembly
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, forklifts, jackhammers) with OSHA-certified safety protocols
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications
- Maintain clean, organized job sites and adhere to environmental regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (carpenters, electricians, welders)
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
- Implement erosion control measures and site security procedures
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year construction labor experience or equivalent trade certification
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean driving record
- Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in extreme weather conditions
- Proficiency with hand/power tools and basic construction equipment
- Basic math skills for measurements and material calculations
- Reliable transportation to job sites within Greater New Orleans
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
