Responsibilities
- Assist in site preparation, excavation, and material handling using hand/power tools
- Operate heavy machinery (forklifts, excavators) with proper certification
- Read and interpret blueprints to ensure precise project execution
- Maintain strict OSHA compliance and safety protocols on active sites
- Collaborate with skilled trades (carpenters, electricians) for seamless workflow
- Perform cleanup, debris removal, and hazardous waste disposal
- Conduct quality checks to meet DC building code standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of commercial/residential construction experience
- OSHA 30-hour certification or willingness to obtain
- Valid Class B CDL with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Proficiency with power tools (saws, drills, jackhammers)
- Knowledge of DC construction regulations and permitting
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Background check and drug screening required
