Responsibilities
- Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, setting up scaffolding, and securing materials
- Operate hand/power tools (hammers, saws, drills, etc.) for cutting, shaping, and assembling materials
- Load/unload construction materials and equipment safely using proper techniques
- Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, masons, electricians) with project-specific tasks
- Maintain strict adherence to OSHA safety protocols and company standards
- Perform site cleanup and waste management to maintain organized work environments
- Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications and requirements
Qualifications
- Must be 18+ years old with valid photo ID
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and perform physically demanding tasks
- Flexible schedule availability including weekends and overtime
- Basic math skills for measurements and material calculations
- Reliable transportation to job sites across the Chicago metro area
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)
