Responsibilities
- Assist Journeyman electricians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential and commercial buildings.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Perform basic electrical tasks such as stripping wire, terminating connections, and mounting outlet boxes under supervision.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organized, and safe in compliance with OSHA and local safety codes.
- Transport materials and tools to and from job sites efficiently.
- Monitor project progress and report any safety hazards or material shortages to the supervisor immediately.
- Develop knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and local Tennessee electrical codes.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred (or equivalent work experience).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Basic math skills (ability to calculate measurements and wire gauges).
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, kneel, and lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) for extended periods.
- Strong desire to learn the trade and work as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation to job sites.
