Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, and government facilities
- Interpret blueprints and technical specifications to ensure code-compliant installations
- Diagnose electrical faults using advanced diagnostic tools and testing equipment
- Coordinate with project managers and team members to meet weekend deadlines
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical panels, transformers, and distribution systems
- Ensure all work adheres to NFPA 70E and District of Columbia electrical codes
- Provide exceptional client communication and documentation of services rendered
- Maintain a safe work environment through proper lockout/tagout procedures
Qualifications
- Valid District of Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification
- Minimum 5 years of commercial/residential electrical experience
- Proven expertise reading complex electrical schematics and blueprints
- Strong knowledge of NEC, OSHA, and DC-specific electrical regulations
- Ability to work independently on weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Proficiency with power tools, diagnostic equipment, and safety protocols
- Excellent problem-solving skills under time-sensitive conditions
- Physical stamina for climbing, confined spaces, and outdoor work in varied weather
