As an apprentice, you will work under the guidance of master electricians to learn the intricacies of residential, commercial, and industrial electrical systems. This is a hands-on opportunity for individuals who are mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and eager to build a future in a booming industry.
Responsibilities
- Assist Journeyman Electricians: Support senior technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, lighting, and power distribution.
- Material Preparation: Organize and prepare tools, materials, and equipment needed for daily projects to ensure efficient workflow.
- Wiring & Conduit: Learn to pull wire through conduits, terminate wiring devices (outlets, switches, breakers), and perform basic circuit connections.
- Blueprint Reading: Develop the ability to interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to understand project requirements.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to OSHA safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and site-specific safety protocols at all times.
- Site Maintenance: Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards to ensure a professional working environment.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Vocational training in electrical trades is a plus.
- Driver’s License: A valid, clean driver’s license is required for travel to various job sites.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in crawl spaces, and stand for extended periods.
- Math Skills: Basic understanding of fractions, decimals, and geometry is essential for electrical calculations.
- Availability: Must be available for full-time shifts, including weekends and potential overtime.
- Attitude: A strong willingness to learn, a proactive work ethic, and a commitment to safety are mandatory.
