Responsibilities
- Assist Journeyman Electricians: Support senior team members with the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems in residential and commercial properties.
- Wire Installation: Pull and terminate wire, install outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and circuit breakers according to blueprints.
- Equipment Setup: Assemble and install electrical panels, transformers, and other electrical equipment safely.
- Blueprint Reading: Learn to interpret electrical blueprints and schematics to understand circuit layouts and load requirements.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all OSHA safety regulations and company protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
- Site Maintenance: Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards (Job Site Cleanliness).
- Testing: Assist in testing electrical systems to ensure proper functionality and troubleshoot minor issues under supervision.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are mandatory.
- Physical Stamina: Must be physically fit to stand, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions for extended periods.
- Math Skills: Basic understanding of mathematical concepts is helpful for reading wiring diagrams and calculating loads.
- Work Ethic: Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a strong desire to learn a skilled trade.
- Tools: No prior tool experience is required; we provide the training, but a willingness to use hand tools is essential.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
