Responsibilities
- Develop 5-10 year technology roadmaps for clients in AI, quantum computing, and biotech
- Lead scenario planning workshops with C-suite executives on disruptive innovations
- Analyze patent filings and academic research to identify emerging market opportunities
- Design prototyping frameworks for futuristic solutions (AR/VR, neural interfaces)
- Publish thought leadership in partnership with MIT Media Lab and Stanford
- Manage $2M+ innovation budgets for experimental R&D projects
- Mentor cross-disciplinary teams of engineers, designers, and futurists
Qualifications
- PhD in Futures Studies, Systems Thinking, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years in strategic foresight, innovation consulting, or R&D leadership
- Published portfolio in peer-reviewed journals (e.g., Futures, Technological Forecasting)
- Expertise in horizon scanning, Delphi methodology, and trend analysis
- Deep knowledge of exponential technologies (quantum, nanotech, synthetic biology)
- Experience with scenario planning tools like Causal Layered Analysis
- Strong network with academic futurists and industry research labs
- Certification in Strategic Foresight (e.g., from University of Houston)
