Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the 2026 Technology Horizon Scan, identifying disruptive trends across AI, climate tech, and human augmentation
- Design strategic innovation roadmaps for C-suite executives, translating foresight into actionable business plans
- Lead cross-functional 'Future Labs' workshops with engineers, designers, and domain experts
- Produce high-impact deliverables: scenario models, patent filings, and innovation frameworks
- Build and manage a global network of futurists, academics, and industry pioneers
- Represent Horizon Labs at premier future-focused conferences (e.g., Singularity Summit, World Future Society)
- Mentor junior strategists and interns in foresight methodologies
Qualifications
- 10+ years in innovation strategy, futurism, or R&D leadership with proven impact on multi-year roadmaps
- Advanced degree in Futures Studies, Systems Engineering, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Portfolio of published foresight work, scenario plans, or patents
- Deep expertise in exponential technologies (quantum computing, synthetic biology, AGI)
- Exceptional storytelling skills with experience presenting to executive audiences
- Experience with horizon scanning tools and foresight methodologies (e.g., Delphi, STEEPVL)
- Track record of commercializing future-focused innovations
- Authorization to work in the US with ability to travel 20% domestically/internationally
