Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Perform routine inspections and safety checks to ensure compliance with local and national electrical codes (NEC/Chicago Code).
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical issues in residential and commercial settings.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for clients and obtain necessary permits for projects.
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently and adheres to safety protocols to minimize on-site hazards.
- Mentor junior apprentices and provide guidance on complex installations.
Qualifications
- Certified Journeyman or Master Electrician license in the state of Illinois.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in commercial and residential electrical work.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Chicago Municipal Code.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
- Physical stamina to stand, climb, and work in various environments (confined spaces, heights, etc.).
